Dealing with BPD wife's FP obsessions

Sounds similar to my situation. My wife has BPD and a few months ago wanted to have an open marriage. I was hesitant but agreed but after awhile I couldn’t handle it. She isn’t seeing anyone now but reading this makes me think it was her FP but maybe took it further.

Yeah we had the same talk at one point. But both agreed it was bad news. That was kind of was a turning point on one of her obsessions. After that she came to the realization he was bad news.

I was someone's FP, they never said it though because they didnt know the term. They loved their partner, absolutely cherished them and had their back. One thing that bothered me was they would constantly vent and cry about grievances and complaints and fights they both had to me...felt so weird, I am not a therapist. Thats what creates a freaky bond. This might not be the case for you, depends.

It's semi similar. It feels like she tries to ruin our relationship and start fights to push me away when it happens. When she realizes she is developing an obsession, like I said typically with a toxic person, and snaps out of it. Beyond BPD she had some really heavy childhood abuse and abusive relationships. Its like she gets drawn to the chaos and toxicity, but realizes that's not what she wants.
