Subscribers down watch hours up?

I've had a tool tutorial/diy channel for about 6 months now and for the first 6 months saw subscriber growth outpace my watch hours. Recently that trend has flipped and now I get around 2 new subs a day but my watch time has increased? Any clue why this would happen? I currently have 700 subs and about 1450 watch hours. Tiy
