Did anyone quit in lieu of RTO?
I was a social work supervisor overseeing field training for new staff conducting abuse investigations. I worked a compressed schedule, and my employer required staff to spend two days per week in the office, which prevented them from conducting home visits on those days. This left me with only two days per week to train seven staff members in fieldwork. As a result, my workdays on those two days would have been from 6 AM to 6 PM, and I would have incurred approximately $1,600 per month in childcare costs to hire a part-time nanny.
So, I quit. I'm working part-time now and have obtained my private investigator license. I found a part-time job that lets me work exclusively from home as a claims investigator and flexibly schedule field interviews. I wanted to be able to drop my son off at school and pick him up. The loss is full-time income SUCKS, though.
