Just Finished the Sivarapalli – Surprisingly Good!
I just finished watching the Telugu remake of Panchayat, Sivarapalli and I have to say, I went in with low expectations, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! Unlike many remakes that feel forced, this one stays true to the simplicity and charm of the original while beautifully adapting to the slow life of Telangana villages.
One of the biggest strengths of the series is its authenticity. The depiction of Telangana’s village life, the innocent people in the thandas, and the natural slang make it feel genuine. Murali Dhar Goud, as expected, is fantastic—his slang and mannerisms fit perfectly into the role, making his character feel real. Rag Mayur, on the other hand, seems more in his comfort zone here, delivering a performance that feels effortless.
Interestingly, the series reminded me of Kambalapalli Kadhalu - Mail, with its rural charm and slice-of-life storytelling. A fun little detail—Uday Gurrala, the director of Mail, plays a role in this series too! Since it was produced by TVF, the essence of the original Panchayat is well-preserved, with its slow, immersive storytelling and strong character moments intact.
If you enjoy slice-of-life dramas with a rural backdrop, this one is definitely worth a watch. Anyone else watched it? What are your thoughts?
