Headphones for tinnitus sufferer
Hi. I hope this is ok to post here.
Someone in my family has bad tinnitus and is very deaf in one ear (not completely, but very deaf). I am not sure whether the tinnitus is just in that one ear, or both (I think it is just that one), or whether the hearing loss is due to the tinnitus or an additional thing for another reason. Sorry if this isn’t helpful, I get confused.
This person loves music and would love to be able to wear headphones but has never been able to due to the uneven hearing loss. The main concern this individual has is that with normal headphones the music is coming from two different places so gives a better sound quality. Whereas wearing just one ear would mean it is only coming from one place and some of the immersive sounds quality would be lost. I would like to give them some kind of headphone type thing as a gift and am looking for advice on how to find the right thing.
I am hoping that by posting here I can get advice from people who know how it feels as I have never experienced anything like it and so don’t know what I should be getting.
Thanks for any help!
