Datto ReadyNAS 3220 , and HP proliant DL380 server where ESXI IS hosted with virtual machines

Just had a question so my job kind of threw me into projects where I don’t have the most experience in .. and I kind of want to know how the network architecture is setup in enterprises in general . So we have this Datto NAS does the Datto and HP Proliant connect to our main Switch because on the side we have like 6 other switches and all of them are connected with uplink from our main switch I Believe . and then we have a Sophos Fire wall and I’m assuming the LAN connects to the main switch giving connection for the entire network ? Am I understanding this right ?
