Suggest me a book where a cop goes undercover and forgets himself

I watched this Korean show on Disney Plus about a cop infiltrating a drug gang and in the process of being there for a long time, he starts losing himself and becoming more like the gangsters around him. It's a lovely character study. (If anyone's interested, it is called "The Worst of Evil")

Can anyone suggest me a good book along those same lines?
