Engineering and my thoughts as a solo.

I probably don’t need to post this but I’m going to go ahead and get my thoughts out in the open.

When I joined several years ago, we as a community were sold on the idea of everything we do in game would have choices and consequences, death and life etc. In terms of our ships we were told that eventually the components in our ships would have to be maintained and taken care of or risk having them shut down. We were also told that multicrew would play a major role in large ships, meaning that we would need either players or AI to man certain positions in the ship in order for it to run as efficiently as possible, none of that has changed.

I think where the players in this game are most looking at is how is this going to affect solo play and what ships will be harder to operate as a solo. Personally I melted my fleet down to just a handful of ships that I know I can run solo or up to three people since my largest ship is going to be the Zeus.

For everyone who plays solo with large ships, the time is approaching where that might not be possible, sure it’ll be do able but the moment you run one trouble there won’t be enough I don’t think. I think it’s good though, ships should require a crew if it’s not a ship meant to be crewed by minimum crew of one.

I think what we are seeing is people who solo with large ships are slightly panicking or upset because of the money they’ve put into ships that they thought they’d be able to solo but realistically when all of this engineering gameplay is in the game they won’t be able to. I’m personally excited for it, I think it will addd lots of challenges for a solo and that’s why I’m here.
