Did not fall asleep for anesthesia, anyone else have this happen?

I had an appointment for my wisdom teeth extraction this morning. They got the IV in ok, but I was not passing out at all. I have crazy anxiety & use a ton of weed but stopped 24 hours before. I also took .25 Xanax the night before and morning of my surgery (Drs orders). And I still couldn’t get knocked out!! Have any of you guys gotten anesthesia and not passed out? had to not go through with the procedure & now have to wait several more months to go to a hospital instead. Ugh.
