sick of buying clothes online
i made a thread about my struggle in the dead sub that shall not be named, now i'm remaking it because i need to complain again.
i am sick of vanity sizing. i am 150lbs 5'11" and buying jeans is a sisyphean task. i need longs, preferably extra-longs, yet nowhere stocks them in person. this means i need to buy them online. my waist is either 29" or 31" (if i have my period) which is supposedly a size 8. in my last adventure buying jeans online, i ordered a pair of jeans in a 28" waist, and when they showed up i could fit both of my arms in the waist while wearing them. i measured them and they were 38"! then i bought a size 8 from a different brand and they were also loose enough for me to fit one arm down the waist and along one leg. i threw those out with prejudice and kept wearing my 5 year old pair of Gap jeans.
before that, i bought some A&E jeans off their website. their website which says their size 8 fits a 29" waist. guess what happened? i had to drive over an hour to the closest store, return those in person, try on jeans until i figured out their size 4 is what fits me (insanity- i do not under any circumstances have a 26" waist), then drive home and order a pair of size 4 longs off their website. then i went back to the store a 2nd time and detonated the vest
there was a nice thread a couple days ago about where tall women can buy cute jeans, but i now have severe trust issues related to buying jeans online and can't bring myself to do it again.
when i do try to google for brands, all i get is fast fashion bullshit. i don't have any other social media so i'm clueless about which brands to trust. things are even more dire now that mid and low rise waists are in full swing. i straight up can't wear a mid or low rise unless i want the whole grocery store to see the top of my bush.
please help me
