Why don’t non-Americans seem to understand the concept of putting things in perspective?
Recently whenever I see a video/comment of an American comparing the size of something to another thing, like say a football field or the Eiffel Tower, a bunch of non-Americans will inevitably make some jokes about the imperial system or American units. Is anyone else confused by this? I don’t understand how the simple concept of putting something in perspective by comparing it’s size to the size of another known object seems so alien and incomprehensible to non-Americans. Do you non-Americans really not do this?
