why is all CS stuff about grinding 24/7

I am an employed engineer (not CS). I do my work (40-50 hrs a week) and do not think about that ish ever again.

all CS engineer job content online that gets spammed to me by the reddit algorithm is about learning new languages / practicing leetcode / etc. in your free time. And if you aren’t constantly doing stuff like that then you are a POS.

What’s the deal with that? It’s the one field I see this sentiment. Mechanical engineers are practicing CAD in their free time.
