I just discovered this series a couple months ago and binged the first 3. I legit almost quit mid book when Sevro "died", yelling at Darrow he should have just killed Cassius in the millions of chances he had previously. And then the emotional whiplash when he popped back up in the end...

I never quit a book part way but gory hell it was close. Glad I stuck with it.
