Yokomo RD2.0 stock setup performance
I just finished assembling the RD2.0, spending the whole day on it. It was fun, but the result is rather disappointing. It drifts very bad compared to my previous RD1.0 (although days of adjustment was spent on that one). This is surprising because I was really looking forward to it as I read many times that the stock setup of it is so good you don’t even have to touch it.
I triple checked every step, and everything is measured to the tenth of a millimetre. One thing I was surprised about is the steering arm is supposed to stick outwards rather inwards as it can be seen on the pictures, and that is touching the wheel at endpoint (and my first clue would be that for the reason why it performs poorly).
It spins out very easily, and understeers a lot (it may be too rear heavy as the motor is mounted at almost the rearest and highest position).
Can you spot something wrong that may be the reason why it doesn’t go well, or I just misread the praises about the stock setup of it?
Tomorrow I’ll do camber toe measuring and per wheel weight check.
