Satellite SOS

I have a Pixel 7. I was just mindlessly scrolling through my settings and I wandered into the Safety & Emergency tab. I noticed something new. Satellite SOS. I clicked on it and it did nothing. Then I found myself looking at the system updates tab. I updated to the March update and the Satellite SOS feature disappeared. I wonder if the plan is to have the P8 family and up get the feature. Google seems to neglect the Pixel 7 family ever since the Pixel 8 family came out. Anyone have info?
