SmartRider- is refund possible for stupid tourists?

Hi all,

We are visiting Perth these days - cool city btw- and as responsible and carless tourists, we purchased SmartRider cards, with 30 AUD on each. But after 2 days of riding buses and trains ( to Freemantle) we noticed that they are not being charged. So we read that there’s actually a gov program supporting free public travel. But no one told us and when we bought them and load them, and stupidly enough we did not read about this program. So now we are stuck with some 60 aud on the cards🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ is there any way to refund them?

Many thanks- and loove the city!

Edit/ Update: Hi guys, many thanks for the answers. For some… I actually laughed quite a bit:)) for an easter european ( we are weird and cold people) you guys made my day, so thank you! So we went to some info point and they said refund defo not possible. So we will enjoy the rides for another 3 days ( we need to tap on tap off still and we have a loooot of places to visit) while we are here and before we leave we’ll give them to the hotel staff. On another note, man how cool is that you have free public transport even if only in summer and Sundays?!? I mean, for us this is unimaginable haha. The little things… Anyway, cheers and many thanks for the help! You guys are cool. Will defo come back to Australia sometime :)
