Is this normal pancreatitis pain

It is an ordinary day. This morning I had a small serving of oatmeal and a cup of coffee. I have had a deep, boring pain first into my spine and then slightly off center to the left, directly where my pancreas is. It started before I drank anything, as soon as I got out of bed. My diagnosis has finally been firmly established as chronic pancreatitis.

I am not currently having a severe attack but the pain is significant, for lack of a better word (what is one level below severe?). It is difficult to get work done. This seems to be run of the mill for me lately. Is this typical of what you experience if you have chronic pancreatitis?
