Story so Far Update - KRAS Clinical Trial
Hey everyone! I've posted here before, but I deleted my account to try and spend less time on the internet. Yet...here I am again. ha. Here was my last post: https://www.reddit.com/r/pancreaticcancer/comments/1c7wwvs/our_story_so_far_whats_next/
TLDR
-Mom (age 59) was diagnosed as Stage 1 March 2023
-Whipple revealed Stage 3, but was largely successful April 2023
-Flofirinox Chemo began June 2023
-Scan revealed first chemo was ineffective August 2023
-Switched to Gem/Abrax -6 months Chemotherapy, Scans show no growth in “haziness” August 23 - Feb 24
-5 weeks of daily targeted radiation - April - May 24
Now, scan in June shows Stage 4 - One small met in the liver but nothing on the pancreas that has changed. That said, she's gaining weight and strength again, and feeling good!
Miraculously, this week a KRAS Targeting trial spot opened up and they offered my mom a spot, this is the trial (QTX3034):

Overall, she's been aggressive and kept the pedal down treating this thing but as you all know too well, Pancreatic Cancer is relentless and just keeps coming. We are hopeful that this new drug gives her the edge. Even if it fails, she bravely told me she is anxious to lend herself to the science of finding a cure for this awful disease.
It looks intense, but both her oncologists are encouraging her to go this route over a new batch of chemo. Anyone know what she should expect as far as symptoms? Anyone else been in a similar KRAS Trial? What is your story?
