Catholic schools - recent experiences?

Hello team! I wanted to know what your opinions are with kids going to catholic schools even though both parents are agnostic and experiences in general. I was baptised Catholic but i no longer practice.

Theres one 5mins away (St Marys) and here are some reasons why im considering attendance

1. I hear that catholic schools in NZ "better" than non-religious ones (?)
2. My kid is half Filipino and it seems like a lot of North Shore Filipino kids go to that school

Also, can agnostic kids be exempted from religious lessons?
