Taka is such a sweetheart he doesn't deserve what's gonna happen to him in this movie

He has a good heart and means well, though that won't be good enough in comparison to Mufasa when the time comes. Taka did his best and would have made a fairly decent king if his spirit wasn't broken while still a teenager. It's okay he's not as brave and ready for a fight as his adoptive brother, though he'll grow up believing if he was exactly like Mufasa he wouldn't have lost everything and ended up as Scar the worthless outcast everyone scorns at.
