Entrepreneurship scam?

Hey all!

Recently, I've received a few LinkedIn messages from people claiming to be successful entrepreneurs with messages similar to:
"Nice to connect, hoping you and your loved ones are staying safe and well. Due to the recent economic situation that has taken place I wanted to reach out. I run an e-commerce-based business that I’m in the process of expanding with like-minded people who are open to building a sustainable, secondary income stream to secure themselves for uncertain times such as where we are today. Without disturbing what you currently do, I wanted to check if you are open to diversifying part-time through entrepreneurship."
I've noticed they all seem pretty legit (work history, education, etc.). A few of them even attended the same college as me or are from the same area. Me being someone who has an interest in making passive income gave a couple of these people a chance and met with them via zoom. Weirdly enough, the 2 people I met both recommended reading the book "Cashflow Quadrant" by Robert Kiyosaki. And even weirder they both asked me to read the first 4 chapters "before our next meeting". Then I checked to see if they were connected and they were not so that was an even bigger red flag. Wanted to raise awareness to this sketchy trend going on. Has anyone else experienced this on LinkedIn? Seems like it could be MLM.

Kinda bummed too because I would love to learn more about how to create passive income and eventually leave my 9-5 from someone who's not trying to scam me. Thanks everyone!
