Should I bring up recent car issues in traffic court?

I received a speeding ticket in upstate NY for 1-10 mph over the limit (75 in a 65). I am going to plea not guilty just to try to get it reduced and avoid points on my license. For a while I've had issues with my transmission/clutch where I sometimes have to really press on the pedal to keep going, especially on hills or turns, and it stalls sometimes. There was a recall for the exact issues I've had with my model and I got it fixed less than 48 hours prior to getting the ticket and i got the ticket when going around a turn. I'm really not used to driving it because I usually have to push the pedal so hard, so I do think that contributed to me going faster. I have the forms for the fix and the recall. Is this something that could be considered in court especially considering I have no other infractions and it's just 1-10 over. Or do you think this could annoy the judge and I should just ask for a reduction without explanation and see what happens?
