DeepSeek R1 might be a game changer for Leetcode
Saw this last night and I found out about the concept of Chain of Thought used by R1 and I think it might be revolutionary for people grinding Leetcode. Especially beginners might benefit from the reasoning steps and get an idea on how leetcode could be tackled.
I tried it on my local manchine as well with the 8B points model and I noticed that it did give the correct answers but they might not be the most efficient ones as it might add an extra if else check here and there (code still passed).
Apparently they also have another model called Coder that is trained on various languages and it is specific to coding questions and it should give better responses than chatGPT-4.
One thing I was surprised at though was that with R1 a simple question such as "when did dinosaurs live on Earth?" might take a relatively long time to get an answer to.
I'm curious to know if other people use AI to help with Leetcode and how they use it?
