Never buying from Ayyoub store again
Hello, i hope you read this before you buy anything from Ayyoub store.
I bought a Lenovo laptop in April 2024 i7 gen12th 1tb nvme and 24gb ram for only 635$ with a warranty of 1 year. Cheap, right?
Well, 2 months later, the audio of my laptop stopped working suddenly. I tried all forms of audio troubleshooting and none of it worked. Both the audio of my laptop, and any plugged headphones stopped working. I contacted an IT and he told me the problem isn't software, it's hardware so you need to contact the store you bought the laptop from. I contacted the IT support of Ayyoub store and they told me to send them the laptop.
I did, it was the end of June / beginning of July, and they told me we'll send this laptop to the agent, which is (supposed to be) Lenovo Support and it should take between 1 day and 14 days.
Well, it took 14 days and that's a lot for such a problem. I picked up the laptop aftet 2 weeks and the same happened less than 24 hours, the laptop's audio stopped working. Contacted them a second time and they told me again to send it. They did the same thing, saying they sent it to the agent ( and i don't believe them you'll know why later). After two weeks, i picked up the laptop again and still, the audio after 1 day stopped working.
Contacted them for the third time desperately, and I didn't really want to go to their place especially right now in these dangerous situations with the war (their place is so close to the place of the assasination of fuad shukr in haret hreik).
They told me 'ahhh the problem is not hardware its software send us the laptop' Of course I didn't send the laptop the third time, and btw they stole 500gb from my nvme, in my local disk before i sent the laptop it was 1tb and after i sent it it put 500gb (that was annoying but my goal first was to fix this goddamn audio). I told them this problem but they said 'the other 500gb are hidden' lol what a lie. I told them its fine i will send it by myself to the agent. They said you can't send it to the agent, only the store can. I ignored them, and i sent it to the agent.
Now the story gets funnier but fucking frustrating.
The agent (Lenovo Support in Achrafieh) asked me for the serial number and after i gave it to them they told me 'Ayyoub Store apparently did not buy this laptop from the Lenovo agent, they bought it from Kenya (Africa) so the warranty was a fake one, the Lenovo agency doesn't accept it.
Well, you might think that paying 15 or 20 or 30$ is fine, and you won' t really need that warranty.
However, the agent told me that the audio problem is related to the board of the laptop and you must change the whole board in order to regain the audio. And changing the board almost costs the same as the laptop. The only way to change the board for free is to talk with Ayyoub but I'm never talking with them again, especially after the 500gb loss So yea, lost 635$ i'm never buying from this place again, i've been trying to fix my laptop for 3 months and still nothing worked. Most importantly, learn from my experience, don't do the same mistake, you got plenty of trustworthy stores like 'pc and parts' but they are a bit more expensive.
This frustrates me because i wanted to start producing music, and the audio is the most important part of it.
Ya sabrak ya Ayyoub!
Edit: A few days after this post, they gave me a new laptop, and for now all is good. Thanks to Mr. Hassan Fakkih.
