Honestly, the remote start is embarrassingly bad

This is our second winter with the Carnival and overall we’ve been very happy with it. One aspect that has really fell short has been the remote start. Especially in the cold winter mornings.

We upgraded to the 2024 Carnival from a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had such better inherent logic in its remote start and I miss that. On cold mornings (when the van tells you ice is possible) the Jeep would - Turn on the front and rear defroster to max - Turn on the driver-side heated seat - Run for 15 minutes before shutting down

The lack of those functions in the Kia means I often bring small kids out to a cold van that has already shut off and shows no sign of making a dent in the frost on the windows.
