I sleep better during the day??
I've been struggling with insomnia for many years. There's been times where my whole existence just revolved around sleeping. It made my life hell. I was getting maybe 4-5 hours a sleep a night for 10 days in a row. Laying awake in bed for hours with my eyes closed but completely unable to sleep. Then hearing the alarm and wanting to throw myself out of my window to avoid going to work. Dragging myself in, barely coherent and trying to take a nap during lunch. Counting the minutes until lunch time came around. It was absolutely horrible. It almost ruined my life.
It's recently gotten somewhat better, more manageable now. With medication.
So I was on nightshift for 2 months. 12 hours. 1800-0600.
I didn't have much of an issue staying awake because I already had horrible insomnia. So it worked out.
The weird part is that when I got home, I'd sleep like a rock. I slept better and more deeply than i ever had in years. I'd wake up well rested. No medicine required. I'd sleep from 0630-1300. And feel very well rested.
Has anyone had similar experience with their insomnia? Like you could only sleep during the day?
