Almost walked away with a girl’s bag in the metro. Embarrassed beyond measure. (Venting)
I was in a hurry. I put my bag in the scanner and when I was on the other side of the entrance, ready to take my bag, I ended up picking someone else’s bag which looked very much like mine. I wore it and walked off towards the metro gate with music blasting in my ears.
I could hear a faint “Excuse me! Excuse me!” in the distance. I thought it must be someone calling out for someone else, so I didn’t bother turning around at first. But then I suddenly felt the bag being really soft on my back. Also it felt about 2 kgs lighter than usual. This was an unusual feeling. My bag had never felt like this, ever. THAT’S when the realisation slowly started to creep in.
Feelings of fear and shame slowly gripped me. I KNEW the “excuse me” was for me. I sheepishly turned around and saw that poor girl with my heavy ass bag waving at me and walking towards me. Luckily, she was sweet about it and just took her bag and gave me mine and left.
To the girl, if you’re reading this by any chance, thank you for shouting “excuse me!” instead of “Chor! Chor!” Either way, this is gonna give me sleepless nights for the years to come.
