Hiccup and the heirs of other tribes chase Dagur and wage war against him and the Dragon Hunters (Viggo and Ryker). The Dragon Riders of Berk stay in Berk. (Darker RTTE storyline, no Dragon Eye.)

Dagur escapes, steals all of Trader Johann's gold and leaves the Archipelago. No Dragon Eye.

Camicazi Berthadottir – Bog Island, Bog Burglar – Heir to Chief Big Boobied Bertha

Thuggory Bigbeard – Meathall, Meathead – Heir to Chief Mogadon the Murderous

Ragnar Flameaxe – Lava Luggs – Youngest son of Chief Rollo the Madaxe

They later find Heather and recruit her.

Heather Blitzer – Lightning Hall, Berserker Tribe – Heir to Chief Dagur the Deranged

Hiccup the Fury King – Toothless, Night Fury

Camicazi the Unhinged –Sunfire, Goldwing (Gold/White)

Thuggory the Fearless – Killer, Monstrous Nightmare (Blue)

 Ragnar the Wise – Lavawing, Gronkle (Red)

 Heather the Vindictive – Windshear, Razorwhip (Silver)

Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Tuffnut and Ruffnut stayed in Berk.

It is Hiccstrid, just not the main focus and will take a while for them to get together.

Viggo, Ryker and Dagur attempt to Conquer the Archipelago.

Basically, instead of chasing after new species of dragons thanks to the Dragon Eye, Race to the Edge here is just Hiccup and the others waging war against Dagur and the Dragon Hunters. A darker story than RTTE.

Drago may come in later.
