Day of Surgery at Silhouette Clinic

Day of Surgery

The Check in Process

I arrived to the Clinic 30 minutes early to check in and was warmly greeted by the staff. They took my passport, checked me in and then after a few minutes guided me to a room to put all my stuff in. Nice room and comfy. They then guided me to another room to change into the surgery clothes for the big day. I didn’t know exactly how to wear it so I tied it wrong and walked out looking silly 😂 - they saw, we both laughed and then they rushed over to help me look proper.

The first meeting came with the staff who told me about the entire surgery and what to expect; how long the surgery will take, how long it’ll take to recover, when to workout, what foods to eat, what not to do, etc - this was all very helpful information that I was not going to remember unfortunately. Luckily for me, they sent an email afterwards as well with ALL of the detailed information for my convenience.

Meeting Doctor Yoon

Staff walked me to meet the famous Doctor Yoon, who got right to business. A Sonogram revealed how large my glands actually were, along with how much fat was there and what I could expect in terms of a look post procedure. He went through multiple different slides with images showing before and afters from past surgeries he’s done, as well as any sagging I may see, how to address it, wrinkles and how long it would take to disappear and so on. This was the part where he started to paint a picture in my head of what I could expect for results which was very calming and assuring. Like his staff, he’s very thorough and kind. Additionally, he asked if I had any questions and carefully and thoughtfully answered all of them until I was comfortable. Once questions were answered, we got up to take pics and then surgery measurements were taken and marked on my body.

He started off with a prayer (which he likes to do before every surgery and I loved that), and then I was escorted to my room for a final few minutes before the surgery. The staff came and got me and told me it was time for the operation.

She lead me to the operating room where I was greeted by the rest of his staff, I laid down, they put an IV and anesthesia in me and within 2 mins I was out. Next thing I remember is the staff walking me into an observation room where they gave me snacks and drinks to hang out for a bit. After about 2.5 hours, Doctor Yoon came to visit me in the observation room, looked at the surgery results and provided some comments and advice on speedy recovery.

ALSO - because I had large glands, and removing them caused a bit of loose skin, they were able to do a thread lift (which they threw in for free, might I add!!) to reduce sagging by up to 60%. If you follow their instructions, you’ll be just fine. They know how important this is to you, what this means to you and how to help.

After I was out of the office, I was then on my way to get some food!

The Entire Process took about 4.5 hours, from consultation, planning, operation and observation.

Couple important notes about Silhouette Clinic

  • Staff speaks very good English and it’s no problem to have a conversation. They’re very smart and helpful. They're helpful by email before and after the surgery.
  • You have to fast for 8 hours before surgery (no food or water)
  • Staff will send you detailed recovery information that is vital to ensuring the best look possible.
  • They’re very responsive to emails - so whenever you email them, they’re quick to respond and provide excellent information.
  • I recommend not to come alone to Seoul alone to have this operation. I was going to come alone and would've regretted it. Post operation, the staff provides you with medicine, but simple tasks like putting on clothes, showering, getting out of bed, etc become very difficult after the operation and it’s 100% easier if you have someone with you that can help.
