Expenses have doubled but income has not.

Hey Gurgaon Folks,

As we move into 2025, I had a conversation with the director of my team, and he shared something quite eye-opening. He told me that 15 years ago, his entry-level salary at this company was 7 LPA, and today, it’s only around 10 LPA. Despite inflation more than doubling during this period, corporate pay scales — especially for entry-level employees — have hardly increased. Meanwhile, salaries for those in management have more than tripled over the same time.

This growing disparity is one of the reasons why the rich continue to get richer, while the rest of us are left behind. The middle class is still very much where it was unless you do something extraordinary.

It’s a sobering reality, but something worth reflecting on as we look ahead.
