Should Older people be allowed to vote??

Should individuals aged 80 and above be permitted to vote? I observed a woman at the polling station who was unable to distinguish between left and right, was unfamiliar with the candidates on the ballot, and unaware of the nation's current affairs. However, a younger individual guided her through the voting process for a particular candidate. It seemed she was not fully aware of whom she was voting for. Should they cast their vote, considering they might not live to see the government they voted for take office?
