Friendship and loneliness

So I have no friends in the UK, just me, my baby and my brother. I will be relocating to Ghana in the near future but my soon to be husband doesn’t like the idea of me socialising and putting myself out there and was giving me examples of people poisoning their friends and other gloomy stories. I wonder why there’s a negative perception of friendship amongst some Ghanaians.
