Xbox or Playstation hand controller for PC?

I’m going to purchase a hand controller to play Elden Ring on my PC. Do they differ in any way? I don’t own a console of any kind but if there are any particular reasons to buy one over the other I’d love to know about them. Thanks in advance :)
