This character just catapulted to my top three after finishing OS!

I have liked Cam/Aaric ever since it was revealed that he already knew about the venin and had become a rider in order to fight them. HOWEVER, as soon as his freaking signet was revealed, I knew he had just jumped to the top of my list of favorite characters aside from Xaden and Violet!

The wisdom, intelligence, interpersonal skills, self-control, and determination needed in order to keep his signet a secret while also learning to use it WITHOUT TRAINING is mind-boggling!

I am also obsessed with the way that Rebecca wrote him to be so clever, dependable, and confident that everyone else just assumed his ability to figure things out and be in the right places at the right times was a character trait, not a supernatural power. That makes the reveal that he’s actually been holding all the cards AND pulling some strings for months all the more incredible.

Personally, I believe Aaric has the dragon eggs and is one of the missing riders, as he’s on his way to deliver them to the Queen on the Dunne island. I am so pumped to see how that influences the future and to find one more about how his signet works! If he’s already capable of changing the outcome of battles and influencing political agendas to the degree of (imo) aiding Xaden in securing Tyrrendore’s freedom by helping him figure out he needed to marry Violet, I can’t imagine what he’ll be able to do once he’s trained more.

Hoping and praying for even more Aaric in the next book (if he’s not off wooing all the island kingdoms 😂)
