Removable in-frame battery, belt driven e-bikes? (Tenways, Lekker,...)
Hi there,
I've been on the lookout for a new bike for some time now. I've started mainly looking for belt drive bikes due to their low maintenance.
I've taken a look at Cube Hyde Race and Canyon Commuters (very popular belt drive normal bikes). However, I feel that it's time to jump ships and get myself an e-bike since I've always limited myself to a short range, which I hope to increase with an aiding motor.
I've been therefore looking at some belt driven e-bikes, with removable in-frame batteries. I've found:
- Tenways CGO 600 Pro, 1900 Euro (done a test drive), lightweight at 16kg
- Lekker Amsterdam +, 1900 Euro (done a test drive), 21kg
- Lekker Amsterdam GT, expensive at 2800 Euro compared to the other options, 21kg
- Veloretti Electric Ace, expensive at 3200 Euro compared to the other options
They are cool bikes and I came to enjoy the fact that they look like normal bikes and you wouldn't know unless you took a closer look. Alternatives that have no removable battery would be Vanmoof.
However, I’m not a such a big fan of single-speed bikes.
Does anyone know about an alternative that they can recommend, which has the criteria of:
- removable in-frame battery
- should not look like an e-bike
- at least 3 gears
- belt drive system
(And if you had to decide between the Tenways CGO 600 Pro or Lekker Amsterdam +, which one would you pick and why?)
