Could we get the ancestral drop rate buff now instead of waiting for season 7?

Ancestral drop rate is buffed in PTR, why do we need to wait for the next season for a simple number tweak? Christmas holiday is coming, would be really nice to hop back to the game for a few hours and get some loot :( and why has xmas event ended before xmas started :(
