Companies asking for machine coding round - iOS dev - I don't have an macOS machine other than my company's
I'm an iOS dev (Swift-UIKit-1.6YOE), I've been trying out for a job switch.
I applied for a few companies, mostly startups because that's where I found some openings.
I got call today that my resume got shortlisted and the hr wanted to have a machine coding round tomorrow, where they'd give a task, and I code it in swift. I told them I do not own a macbook other than my company's and I cannot use it for interviews since it's monitored. I asked if there is any other way but they said it wasn't possible.
I feel like this is going to repeat more, since comapnies would like to try out machine coding.
Im confused rn whether to buy a mac just for the sake of interviews.
Anyone else faced a similar situation?
I currently own a windows machine with an AMD chip, so I don't think hackintosh is possible.
