Stuck Between Staying Remote with My Current Company or Relocating for a Unicorn

I’ve been working remotely at a small startup for the past 2 years—it’s my first job, and I live in Bhopal, so working remotely has let me stay close to family. Recently, I got an offer from a unicorn company (they just hit unicorn status), which offers a hybrid WFO setup. However, I’d need to relocate to Delhi or Bangalore for this new role. I already accepted the offer, but now my current company is trying to retain me by matching the salary (11 LPA) and has agreed to continue offering WFH.

Here’s the situation:

  • Current Job: Small startup, fully remote, no relocation needed. They’ve agreed to my salary request and WFH condition if I stay.
  • New Job (Unicorn): Hybrid WFO, with relocation required to either Delhi or Bangalore. Seems like a chance to gain more exposure in an office environment and in big city.

I’m also an only child, so being near my parents is important to me, but I don’t want to miss out on a career opportunity either. I’m trying to balance family and career growth.

Would love to hear your thoughts! Should I go for the unicorn experience, or stick with my current setup? What will you do in this situation?
