Seeking Advice: Is it Appropriate to Request Work From Home for learning to switch jobs?
I'm seeking some advice on a work-related matter and would appreciate your input. I've been a part of my current team for nearly 2.5 years, and during this time, I've gained valuable experience with various technologies. However, I'm considering switching jobs to pursue further growth.
I want to be honest with my manager about my intentions, especially since he hired me despite a less-than-ideal interview and has provided positive feedback, including the best appraisal in the team. I'm considering requesting a one-month work-from-home arrangement to focus on preparing for interviews while continuing to fulfill my current responsibilities.
Do you think it's appropriate to send such a request to my manager? I want to ensure transparency and maintain a positive relationship. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Below is my Mail draft:
Subject: Requesting for 1 Month Work From Home.
Hi Sir,
As you know, I have been a part of our team for nearly 2.5 years now, during which time I have gained very valuable experience with various technologies. However, in pursuit of further growth, I am considering switching my job.
I'm reaching out to request a one-month work-from-home. During this time, I plan to complete my work while also dedicating little time to prepare for interviews. Rest assured, I will remain committed to delivering my tasks efficiently, maintaining the same level of productivity and quality remotely.
Also, I want to make it clear that I'm very happy and grateful for the salary I receive here. My main reason for considering other job opportunities is simply because I want to explore different companies and technologies.
I kindly request your approval for this work-from-home request.
Thanks and Regards,
