Should Broken Keys be buffed, or simply removed from basic Chest loot tables?
As it currently stands, it appears as if BHVR is trying to promote Chest usage, possibly as a way to compensate for nerfing gen regression by making side objectives more alluring. They recently lowered the opening time of Chests, and buffed various Chest-related Perks. However, Chests are still, by default, a risky time investment due to one factor: Broken Keys.
Taking the time away from healing/gens to open a Chest, only to be presented with an item that, without certain Perks, literally worthless and unusable in-Trial, makes Chests less appealing and impacts the future desire to put the time into opening one for a Survivor who "loses the dice roll" in this way. They can be worthwhile with Perks like Exultation or Ace in the Hole, but by default, Broken Keys are literally worthless unless you escape the Trial with it, and even then the value is potential for future Trials, not the one you find it in.
With this being the case, do you feel the game would be better served by removing Broken Keys from the loot table of Chests outside of players using Perks like Ace in the Hole, or buffing Broken Keys for them to be able to do SOMETHING when they have no Add-Ons?
