Is labia size and appearance something people really care about?

i've been ashamed of the appearance of my labia since i hit puberty and it grew. it's not abnormally large, for any medical reason or anything. Just a larger inner labia that pokes out past the outer lips. And it's dark colored. I've never received any complaints but I also have only really let one person up close and personal so, now that i've ended that relationship I'm very anxious going back out into the dating world. I don't let people give me head and I don't encourage foreplay cause I'd rather just avoid them having to see it all together. just go straight to penetration. But that's not pleasurable for me. I don't feel like my vagina is pretty. I’ve planned for years to get plastic surgery when i can afford it. As i'm typing this im realizing how sort of ridiculous it sounds... But I need public opinion.
