Transfer save from pirated version to steam version

Hello! I usually do not buy games before I try it and like it. (Think what you want but buying something without at least a demo is wild for me). So I downloaded DD2 and played it for about 7-8 hours. In brief, I love the game and want to buy it in Steam to continue playing. Does anyone know if it will be possible to transfer my save into the Steam version of the game?
