Can I succeed as a web developer without an IT degree?
Hi everyone! I’m 23, a 3rd-year dental student, and have been working as a virtual assistant for 3 years to support myself and my family. I’m also studying Spanish to improve my skills and future opportunities.
Recently, my client’s team hired a web developer who shared that they completed 10 projects this month, each earning $1,500. This made me wonder if web development could be a viable path for someone like me, even without an IT degree.
I’ve also been considering focusing on becoming a Spanish bilingual VA or even building my own VA agency someday.
For those of you who’ve transitioned into web development or built careers in these fields, I’d love your advice: • Is it realistic to pursue web development without an IT background? • Should I focus on my bilingual VA path instead? • How do I prepare for starting my own agency in the future?
Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
