Envy from a nipple shield-using and flat nippled FTM

I just watched a woman at a restaurant with a beautiful newborn (like days old) clearly give the mom food cues and watched the mom literally flip her boob out and ONE SECOND LATER her baby was feeding with no problem. I cannot even imagine, me with the flimsy nipple shields and my poor latching 7 week old, what it would be like to be able to breastfeed so quickly and efficiently like this woman. Such envy!! So happy for them but DAMN! Instead, I’m struggling with a flimsy silicon shield, trying to get the right angle, needing to use a pillow all the time, with a frustrated and crying baby 24/7 since my 7 week girl was born.

Can someone please tell me it gets better and that one day I can aspire to this? Any moms with flat nipples have better breastfeeding experiences with subsequent babies?
