"Nope" is the movie studios wanted Spielberg to make

In the Close Encounters episode, they mentioned the studios wanted Spielberg to make "Jaws but with aliens." While I have clocked all the similarities between "Nope" and those films, it kinda blows me away that Jordan Peele essentially took the bet the studios wanted and made a masterpiece.
