What does this show say about society?

My friend and I were recently talking about this show and she told me that she thought BCS tells a great story and has good characters but she feels like it doesn't really attempt to say anything profound about society. As a BCS worshipper and a 5-time rewatcher of the show, I was shocked, saddened, and immediately told her the many "profound" things that I've taken from the series.

I'm curious what societal lessons y'all have taken from BCS. Give me your most interesting takes on what overarching messages BCS has to offer so I can further roast my friend's ass.
