What does the election mean?

Hi all, As a foreigner I’ve sincerely appreciated that I haven’t been bombarded by my home country’s politics for the two years that I’ve been here, but now I feel sadly uninformed. I like to know who my representatives are, what they stand for, what might be happening in the political processes- right now I barely have an idea of what each party’s platform is.

So I thought I’d ask you all- •What does a CDU Berlin mean? •How do you feel about it? •What might we expect for this term?
