Can we all agree that dealing with flares is not fun?
I'm sure that as infantry you absolutely hate always firing missiles against helicopters and jets that simply flare, leave and then come back when their flares (their immortality) are back. They will scoot and shoot, over and over and over and over and over. Spending an entire game doing this back and forth dance is supremely frustrating. That's of course if my Stinger doesn't decide to simply go in 3-4 circles around my target and miss. Or that they are so damned slow that even if a jet doesn't have flares yet it can boost away from my rocket until it does.
And even if I do get a hit, even if I friggin' do get a hit, it takes 2 Stingers to destroy something like a jet or an attack heli. So if it's only one hit that manages to get through, it'll survive and the whole process repeats again.
This is, I believe, why most people just give up on trying to fight things in the air, because you will spend all that time shooting Stingers that will miss when you could bring AT instead that has use against both infantry and armor.
I suppose the argument will be "but it's a lock-on fire and forget it shouldn't be good", well then I guess we should just not have it? How often do Stingers actually shoot you down? Once in a blue moon, right?
"But you Lissiles you scrub" I hear you say. When was the last time you, as a pilot, got shot down by a Lissile in anything that wasn't a slow transport? Come on. Lissile is terrible against a competent pilot, you won't touch them.
But we've complained about this for a long time, so I don't expect anythign to change for this game. But maybe DICE can take heed about this and deal with it for the next game.
