Beginner bartender is bartending school a good start?

I want to attend bartending school, it’s about 590$, do yall think I could ask my work to pay for it or is it a solo act? Cause I don’t mind dishing out the money it would just be a minute before I could afford it. I recently became a bartender and I NEED training and that hasn’t really happened they just gave me a book of holiday cocktails…. No basics I feel a little underprepared.
