Raccoon deterrent?

I have a bunch of raccoons that love to hang out on my deck, tip over pits and generally make a mess. I’ve got motion sensor lights up to deter them, but instead of scaring them they think It’s a disco. Any suggestions on what to do to keep them away? I’ve heard use Cajun pepper flakes in the pathways, but with the rain it would just wash away. They climb over the fence so there isn’t a specific hole I can block.
